I’ve spent my whole career helping nonprofits build capacity—whether it’s fundraising, strategic planning, HR, or leadership development. I’ve lived, breathed, and yes, maybe even eaten a mission statement or two along the way.

Now that I’m more involved in our family’s campground business, I’ve started thinking: How often do small businesses take time to define their own mission, vision, and values? In the nonprofit world, these are our North Star—the three-legged stool everything else balances on.

So, I figured I’d give it a shot. I sat down and crafted a mission and vision for 5 Branches, rooted in the values that matter most to me. Here’s where I landed... for now.

What do you think?

5 Branches Mission Statement: We’re a family-run campground where nature is the backdrop, memories are made, and everyone’s welcome around the fire.

5 Branches Vision Statement: To blend tradition and innovation into a campground experience that’s as magical as the mountains themselves.

5 Branches Core Values: Legacy, Community, Connection, Stewardship.
